Spinning half-square triangles in an 8″ block.
Make 4 half-square triangle (HST) units. Draw a diagonal line on the lighter square, layer right sides together with the darker square, sew 1/4" on each side of the line, cut apart and press open. Arrange the 4 HSTs so the dark triangles create a spinning pinwheel, then sew into 2 rows of 2.
