Four paws, each a large square with two half-square-triangle claws along each of its two outer sides and a small background square in the outer corner, separated by sashing strips around a centre square.

Construction Tips
Claws are often cut from the paw fabric. Build each paw as a 3 x 3 unit, then join paws, sashing strips and the centre square in three rows.
