Also known as: Double Wedding Ring, Wedding Ring, Pickle Dish Variation
Interlocking rings of colorful arc segments symbolizing the unending bond of marriage, approximated with polygon wedges.
The Double Wedding Ring requires curved piecing and careful template work. Each ring arc is assembled from small wedge-shaped pieces (typically 4-8 per arc) sewn in sequence. The melon-shaped patches at the ring intersections require concave-convex seam matching. Use freezer paper or acrylic templates designed for this specific pattern. Pin generously at the curves, clipping the concave seam allowance. Many modern quilters use specialty rulers that simplify the cutting. Spray starch helps maintain fabric stability on the bias edges.
