Turnovers

Turnovers are pre-cut half-square triangles — 6-inch squares that have been cut diagonally to yield triangles ready for sewing. Each pack typically contains around 40 triangles from a coordinated fabric collection.

The key advantage of turnovers is that they eliminate the most tedious and error-prone step in making half-square triangle quilts: cutting accurate triangles from squares. The bias edges are pre-cut and consistent, so quilters can focus on design and assembly rather than precision cutting.

Turnovers are a specialty pre-cut, less widely available than jelly rolls or charm packs, but invaluable for triangle-based designs. They work beautifully in pinwheel quilts, flying geese variations, and any pattern built on half-square triangle units.
